Mega-Yachts. Perhaps the ultimate status symbol of the incredibly rich.
If these "toys to end all toys" don't tickle your fancy, I don't know what would. These immense floating palaces will cost you a TON of money in the long run, but big dreams really don't have a price tag, do they? But, if you were to wonder what you'd need to shell out ... you'd need $200 - $400m, depending upon the finishes and additional toys.
But, then again, don't forget the millions per year just to keep these babies operating. So if you're so inclined, here is (in my opinion) one of the greatest Mega-Yachts (not necessarily the largest) afloat:

The Octopus
Once Roman Abramovich launches this latest Mega-Yacht, Eclipse, later this year, the Octopus will be downgraded to #8 on the Largest Mega-Yachts in the World.
Sad, really.
Well, I guess Paul Allen (Co-Founder of Microsoft) will just have to live with the disappointment.
The Octopus was built in 2003 and at that time was the 3rd largest Mega-Yacht in the world. At an amazing length of 414 feet, Octopus has 2 helicopters on the top deck (one in the front, one in the back), a 63-foot tender, 7 additional tenders of various sizes, a pool on one of the upper decks and hatches that serve as docks for jet skis.

Perhaps the most incredible features of this yacht are its 2, that's right 2, submarines—one is a 40 foot, ten-person submarine that can sleep eight people for up to two weeks underwater, while the other is remote-controlled and used to study the ocean floor.
Total cost to build: $200,000,000 USD
Cost to maintain: $20,000,000 USD (annually)
Crew: 60 permanent crew
Builder: Lurssen, Howaldtswerke - Deutsche Werft Kiel, Germany
Naval Architects: Espen Oeino, Antibes
Living the Dream Rating: $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ (15/10)
